Our Story

Lynne Gallagher, Owner

While honing her skills in costume design for numerous theatrical productions and touring rock bands including the Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, KISS, Goo Goo Dolls, Mr. Big, Billy Dean, Robert Plant, Buddy GuyJim Kerr, Coldplay, Shakira, Metallica, and Ringo Starr, Chris Martin/ Coldplay Super Bowl 2017Janelle Monáe, Little Steven and the decibels of soul Gallagher dreamed of creating a children's clothing business that would be anything but ordinary. Her move to San Francisco in 1991 enabled her to pursue this dream which became Wee Scotty. Her flair for the dramatic translated into bold fabrics, colors and textures that eventually would become the Wee Scotty trademark. Lynne's passion for design and sewing lead to the embarking of knowledge to youths of San Francisco and Mill Valley. Wee Scotty opened its doors in 1999 in the founding location of Banana Republic in Mill Valley Ca. We have moved throughout the years due to rent increases and have taught classes in Mill Valley (2 years), Pacific Heights (13 years) and now servicing the Richmond/Pacific Heights/Sea Cliff area of San Francisco.

Gallagher's successful San Francisco based apparel production and product development includes many name brand clients - Joe Boxer, Esprit, DKNY Kids, Betsey Johnson, Gymboree/Zutopia, Levi's, Vogue Patterns, Sandra Betzina/Power Sewing, and recently the cool t-shirt company, San Franpsycho.

Gallagher has been successfully teaching children how to sew in San Francisco for the past twenty years. Many of her students have become so advanced that they are able to compete with and share their skills with adults. Students have continued interest and gone to NYU, Pratt, RISD, Academy of Art and Parsons. At Wee Scotty we believe the art of sewing is best when shared with others.
